The kids started school a few weeks back. Josiah is going every morning, five days a week, Jacob four days and week, and Emma two. Here is a picture from their first day. They are just about to head out the door.
Josiah is in the class that prepares the kids for elementary school, which means he is learning to read and write in local language, in addition to other basic school stuff. It is tough and he has homework everyday. Right now we are looking for a tutor to come and work with him each afternoon. This guy is a hard worker! He is at school from 8 to 12, then works on his homework from about 1 to 2, and we do homeschool from 3 to 5. Wow!
Jacob loves school. He really, really likes it. He often says, as he leaves the house in the morning, "I wonder what kind of candy I will get today?" It may be the candy, or it may be that he is really good at looking super cute and the teachers are really good at giving him lots of one on one time. Whatever it is, he likes it and is doing well there.
Emma is not quite sure about it yet. She looks forward to going, gets there and is hesitant, and by the time we pick her up is pretty teary eyed. It has to be tough to spend three hours not able to communicate when you are such a talkative little girl.
