Yesterday was Jared's birthday, our first one to celebrate in our new home. Josiah has been looking forward to it for days, we have been preparing for it since last week. Yesterday morning when I went and got him from his room, that was all he could talk about, he was so excited. First thing Josiah got to give Daddy his gift, badminton rackets. We also had a surprise package from Jared's parents with lots of goodies, magazines, coffee, mm's, and stuff for Jacob and Josiah (cheerios, yes finally an easy finger food for Jacob!). Jared quickly left for school but when he got back at lunch our househelper had made him his favorite meal. Josiah and I also had made ice cream pie for him (quite the feat considering we are in Asia and ingredients are next to impossible to come by). Then last night we went out to eat with lots of friends at a place we call the "asian burrito" place. We also got to sing happy birthday and have chocolate cake. Jared said that his favorite thing about the day was Josiah's excitement about it being Daddy's birthday. Josiah was a little over the top about it all :) He did keep reminding me that it wasn't his birthday, it was daddy's birthday. Happy birthday Jared!!
