Out and About

With young kids, it seems I don't often pull out our camera when we are out exploring.  My two hands are usually required for holding kids hands.  Earlier this week I made a point of taking the camera with us as we walked down the street to get some Thai bubble tea.  The kids love trying to suck the tapioca balls through the straw, can spend a good 30 minutes taking turns on one cup of the frozen drink.  Here are a few pictures from our quick walk.

We often take this 'red truck' to get to nearby destinations, the grocery store, park, swimming, etc.  It is about 15cents per adult (kids are free) and works pretty well for our family, if not super crowded.  Jared has figured out which number to take to get to some of the destinations we frequent.
To get to the hospital and the church we go to on Sunday's we usually take taxi's.  It is pretty far and taxi's are more convenient, although definitely cost more than in our home city.  It usually costs us around $2 to $2.50 to get to the hospital (depending on traffic).  Jared sometimes also rides on the back of a motorcycle, often the same price as a taxi but much, much quicker.  The traffic in this city is crazy, and motorcycles can weave in and out of the sitting traffic and usually cut travel time at least in half.  We regularly sit for an hour in a taxi just to get to the hospital for an appointment, when if I go in the evening I can usually make it in 15 minutes.  Makes me thankful for the small city we call home, with less cars and more bicycles.
