Last weekend we took a trip to the zoo, our first time ever for this city. It was great and cheap! (About $6 admission for our entire family.) Surprised we had not tried it in the past. We are already trying to figure out when we can get out there again. My only complaint is that it is hot here and the zoo does not offer much in the way of cooling off. Kids did fine, I am just a wimp right now when it comes to heat.
We saw a lot of the zoo 'regulars', attended a dolphin show, rode a bus/shuttle around the zoo, and spent a lot of time looking at reptiles (of course). Josiah and I have been reading and studying on jungles, on Asian jungles in particular. We were able to see a lot of the specific animals and creatures we had recently read about. Talk about a great field trip, and unplanned at that.
Boys ran around from one thing to another, talking non-stop. Emma, on the other hand, came down that day with some sort of sickness and spent the entire morning in the stroller. She was way to content to sit in the stroller, this made us realize she really was not feeling well. By the time we got home she had a fever and slept a ton. (The next morning she was back to her busy self.)
As you can see from the above picture, we have yet to have a child who has a fear of anything creepy and crawly. Jacob would have kissed those pythons if Jared had allowed him. (I was thankful he did not :))
