We have had these wonderfully big, black spiders spinning webs in our windows. I think we have had on average 5 or 6 at one time. The boys have loved it. Over the past few weeks, they keep track of them, watch them, and see what they catch. It has been a great, and needed pastime for Josiah and Jacob. One of these creatures, that has been super special, is the one pictured above. It found a home at the perfect height and spot for viewing at all times of the day. It also is a deliciously fat one. Well, yesterday, somehow this spider found its way into our house. Once it was inside, it was not quite as loved by every member of the family. Within minutes it was squished and thrown in the garbage. Much to the excitement of all, and then sadness of a few. We did discover today that one of the spiders just had an enormous amount of eggs hatch...did not take much to distract us from the slaughter of yesterday.
