Last week we celebrated an Autumn festival here in our city. Schools were closed for a few days, families came together for meals, and people exchanged moon cakes. (At least these were the most visible festivities involved with the holiday.) It is difficult to describe what the cakes are really like. They are very dense, with different kinds of fillings (kind of like a fruit cake). The ones we had in these pictures were pork, nut, and salty egg, or at least that is what we determined from our taste tests.
We are getting ready to 'test' the moon cakes.

The box said "May we all be blessed with longevity though far apart, we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together".

Jacob saying "cheese" and showing off the inside of one of the cakes.

Josiah trying to decide which one he is going to eat.
