Christmas Time is Coming

Last weekend we decorated for Christmas.  The first morning after we decorated, kids got out of bed and ran into the living room to see if everything was still there from the night before.  They have been so excited.  Jacob keeps saying, "Mommy, Christmas time!".  Emma is often saying, "Mommy, lights! Mommy, lights!"  So far we have yet to see any evidence of the upcoming holiday elsewhere in our city, although Jared did say yesterday he saw some decorations for sale at a local supermarket.  In our house we are definitely preparing.  Today is Dec. 1st and this evening we will open our first ornament, remembering creation.  Each day we will open a new ornament leading up to Christ's birth.  Just today I began studying the Christmas story with my tutor in order to later be able to tell it clearly in the local language.  I also have begun much planning for this season, baking lots and lots of cookies, preparing items to take to the kid's school to share the story there, and also preparing for many Christmas parties to take place in our home.  Our family is all in anticipation for this time of celebrating the birth of our savior.  Please also be thinking of us as we have a very busy month ahead of us!
