A Newspaper Article
Last week a local newspaper printed a story on our family, covering most of the second page and including a picture. The week previous Jared had been invited by a friend to go out for coffee and after arriving discovered that it was for the purpose of interviewing for this article. Overall the article came out well, talked about Jared's thoughts and view on our city and experiences we have had while living here. It was all very positive, and seemed accurate. The funny thing is how many people have seen the article. The day it came out, Jared and I received multiple text messages from friends commenting on it. We have had multiple strangers on the street stop us in order to comment on the article. A few evenings ago our family was leaving a local supermarket when I heard two women behind us discussing our family. One woman informed the other that we were American, not British, and that our youngest child was a girl. She said she 'knew' all about us from an article she had read in the newspaper. I am happy to know that even more people in our city are better informed on our family's nationality, thoughts on life in our city and this country, and on the makeup of our family (the questions we get on a daily basis) :). Makes me realize once again how much we are being observed and an object of curiosity. What an opportunity we have, thankful each day is in the Father's hands!
