I cannot possibly write about a trip we have taken without also including something about the travel time. This trip went relatively smoothly, we made all our flights, and most of the flights we were able to sit where we could see each other.
This trip we had three flights each way, one domestic, one international, and then another domestic. Because the international flight was in the middle, we had to collect our bags and recheck in for each flight. We also had to buy an infant lap ticket for each flight, at the airport that we were about to depart from. For some reason, this is always difficult. We are not sure why. During our first layover, as we were preparing to check in for the international flight, we had a 2 1/2 hour layover. We ran and collected luggage, ran (literally) to where we would check in, found out where to purchase the infant ticket and began the waiting process. It ended up taking four ladies, three phone calls, and an hour and 15 minutes to finally purchase the ticket.
I love this picture. It is the first time I have been able to capture the confusion that occurs each time our family is attempting to travel by air.
In the end, after getting our bags checked in, and making it through security and customs, we made it to the gate just in time to board the plane and prepare for take off.
This final picture is just before our final flight. We had to switch between airports and are waiting in line to check in for the quick, domestic flight.
I don't necessarily look forward to travel, however don't really dread it either. Often we get a lot of laughs out of the unexpected, and completely out of our control randomness that we almost always find ourselves in.
