A Day Off
Today was a great day! Jared had the day off from school so we decided to treat the day like a vacation. This morning we slept in, well until 7 rather than getting up before the boys at 5:30. Then after a breakfast of french toast, we went down to the waterfront park and took a boat ride along the river. It was a beautiful day, we didn't even have to wear our heavy jackets. We got some fun pictures too of our apartment, from the riverside. After the boat ride we spent an hour and a half walking and playing along the waterfront. There is a sort of park that goes for a couple miles with areas of trees, grass, statues, benches, etc. It has been a long time since I have seen Josiah so extremely happy. He was having a great time just running, climbing, and playing (without us having to give directions and instructions on what not to do). We even bought some bubbles from a vendor, along with some drinks. We headed back home for lunch, where we discovered that our househelper had made an incredible meal, that included eggplant (my most favorite vegetable right now). Wow, was it good! The boys went down for naps and I headed to a coffee shop to meet a friend and visit for a couple hours. Then this afternoon we decided to go out to eat and a local western restaurant and we made an adventure of it by taking the bus and then walking a ways to get there. The weather was great today and we definitely made good use of it. Jared just told me that tomorrow they are saying it may reach 70 degrees. Wow! What will we do tomorrow?

Kelly,
Now we're talking! This is exactly why is is SO wonderful to have a helper--you can spend the little bit of free time that you have with your family, and then come home to a wonderful meal, all prepared! I can't tell you how many times something like this has blessed me. I'm so glad for you that your arrangement with her seems to be working out well.
We are about to go out and have an Egg Hunt with our other foreign friends! Enjoy that beautiful weather!
blessings,
Rachel W
