Last week a major holiday was celebrated here. Part of the celebration included an incredible amount of fireworks and firecrackers. For hours, over a period of many days, we listened to loud explosions happening on all sides of our apartment. It was great fun for the boys to watch from our windows, although Josiah had a real time falling asleep one night because he was just sure our apartment was going to catch on fire. Not a surprising fear, considering he had been watching fire lighting up the sky and areas outside our windows for hours before going to bed.
On the day of the holiday we hung out at the living room window before dinner to watch neighbors letting of firecrackers.

And after dinner, hung out at the kids' bedroom window to watch fireworks, before finally shutting the curtain and trying to get everyone to sleep.
