The Big Green Bus

Yesterday afternoon Jared got home from school and we all decided to go on an outing. We went down just outside our apartments and got on the first bus that arrived. Part of the adventure was discovering where the bus went. Because we live pretty far to one side of town, the bus had many empty seats and we found a comfortable place where we were able to stay even as the bus became full. It was great. Josiah commented (in his very loud voice) on every single thing that he saw. Jacob just sat, looked around, and smiled at anyone that talked to him. The bus sort of zig, zagged through smaller streets and we were able to spend a lot of time sightseeing. We lasted for about a half hour, until Josiah said he had to go to the bathroom. (He ended up going in his pull-up, no other options at the time.) We got off right near a park on the waterfront and walked around for a bit. There are multiple statues at the park and we explored a bit. Jared began to notice, however, that there were signs with red writing and exclamation points on the edges of each grassy area. We decided that the signs must say not to walk on the grass, a common thing here. It was rather sad that we had discovered the signs, that meant no more exporing the statues. Anyways, after a bit we started getting cold, or at least my hands were really cold from holding Jacob, so we caught a taxi and headed home. It was a fun way to get out of the house in the winter, and explore our city a bit. Now for figuring out how to take this potty trained two year old out in public, when we almost never have an easily assessible bathroom. In front of one of the statues. If you look under the elephant's trunk you will see one of the signs we discovered just after taking this picture. Another picture from the waterfront park.
