We live in a city where the family size is small, and to the locals our family of five seems extremely large. This past week, four times, I experienced the following conversation:
I was either out on my own, or telling someone about when I was out on my own. I was asked, "who's watching/watched your kids?". I responded "my husband". They then looked shocked and said "ONE person watching ALL THREE kids?!". On one hand I wanted to say "yeah, I have a pretty awesome husband", on the other hand I wanted to say, "what do you think I do all day, every day?".
